Lovely Wedding Shower Cards!

I have a couple friends getting married. One is having a wedding shower this weekend! And! Since I slacked on getting her a gift to bring to the shower (I did order it, but I feared it wouldn't come in time for the shower), I thought I'd make her a nice card to open and just slip pictures of the presents I picked out of her registry into the card. That way she can open something from me and honestly, I probably put more thought into this than other people who order pre-gift wrapped presents randomly off her registry. Ha!

The other girl isn't getting married until October, but since I'm doing one hand-made card, I might as well do the other while I'm at it. Note that I made sure you couldn't see which person got which card so it'll still be a surprise if they check my blog. I'm so clever!

This project is pretty simple. Just cut paper and glue it together. I thought I might add, though, it might be cool to use stamps. They have a large selection at the craft store. Wedding themed, too!

Here is an assortment of paper I bought! They range from 12 cents to 50 cents. I also bought rub on lettering ($3.99), and some flower do-dads (99 cents).
First I print a little message on the inside. One will be a vertical card and the other will be horizontal.
I stole an envelope from a cheapy card and now I'm cutting my paper to the same size.
Papers!
A heartfelt message.
Cut to size!
I bought this love-themed paper. Perfect, eh?
But I don't need all of the paper. I cut just enough to keep the big LOVE in there.
I'm going to glue it to the card with some spray adhesive!
That's Amore
Trim the edges...
Spray Adhesive
And now I stick it on! Neato!
I cut some Vellum paper (this see-through stuff) to a slightly smaller size so I can lay it on top. Now I'm going to rub some of that lettering on it. No, it's not in place yet.
I just rub the letters on and presto! It's a wedding!
Stick it on!
A wedding!
Rub it in!
I didn't use the spray adhesive here. I just glued it on with Elmer's to the pink paper right underneath the birds so you couldn't see. Brilliant right? Then I messed up and got some glue underneath the lettering and it got all crinkly :( That's ok. They'll have to deal.
I thought a ribbon would be a nice touch. Yes yes?
For this card, I've decide to use this lovely flowery Vellum paper on top of the card stock, and another Vellum sheet on top of that. I leave the patternless paper on top because the lettering won't get lost.
Glue!
Tie it all together now
Card, the second.
I thought I'd save you pictures of me cutting everything out and just put it together.
I put little flowers on this one because I thought it'd go with the flower motif... and also another ribbon. I'm using a strip of paper just as a guide to keep my letters straight.
Does it look wedding-y enough? Eh! It's pretty, no matter.
Like this!
Flowers, Ribbon, Letters
All done!
Aww. So pretty. How girly and un-rockstar.
Wedding Bliss!
