Harddrive Coozies!

I have an external harddrive that I use at work. Since I take it around with me sometimes, I thought I should make a harddrive coozie so I can toss it in my bag without worrying about it getting jostled around and hurt. My baby!

Anyway, here is how I made it: I decided I would use this red fabric, lined with fusible interfacing for sturdiness, lined with fusible fleece for padding, and then lined again, with some sort of satiny fabric so it didn't look so messy inside.

This is how I visualize my bag looking.
I tried as best as I could to figure out how I was going to make this before I started any construction and then realized I should've done one step first.
I made a pattern using tissue paper and made very precise measurements, including all seam allowances and hem allowances. Hard work, dudes! One for the fabric, one for the fusible fleece, one for the lining.
The Concept!
The Plan!
Patterns
I layed my patterns on the corresponding fabric and cut out all my pieces.
Then I ironed on all the fusible stuff. I didn't make the fleece as big as the red fabric/interfacing to reduce bulk around the seams.
I attached the pocket just by sewing it on to one of the side pieces for the bag. Because wouldn't it be hard to sew on a pocket after I put the thing together? Yes, I think so.
All Cut Up!
Ironed On
Pocket is formed!
Construction is almost finished! Now I will sew the satin lining to the top hem.
Yay! It looks like one of those mushroom things from Super Mario Bros.
I thought you'd like to see what it looked like from the side.
Coming together!

A lovely decorative design.
Put your Harddrive in! See how you can put cables in the pocket? Brilliant!
My first attempt, by the way. Just thought you'd like to see as an aside.
Screen Print Design!
Fully Functional!
Heh Heh...
