The Ugly Porcelain Beautification Project!

When I got my first apartment, I was lacking... stuff. A lot of stuff. So the solution? Buy lots of cheap UGLY stuff. I bought this dish set in the Salsa Stripe pattern... it came with a set of four plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, saucers and silverware. All for 20 bucks! But they were ugly. So here I go using the porcelain painting kit I got for the The Great Left Over Tile Coaster Project to re-do the Salsa Stripe dishes.

This is a mug from my ugly Salsa Stripe dish set.
You must think I like stars, but the truth is I had already cut these out for that painting (which is now one of my banners.) I'm going to stick them on my dishes to mask the areas I don't want painted... and yes, let the ugly salsa stripe pattern show through.
For a temporary bond, spray surface, let dry 3-5 minutes, then stick.
Ugly!

I look like an old lady.
Here's what it looks like before I take the stars off.
Here's what it looks like after I take the stars off. You can always touch up with a wet Cotton Swab

Complete and less ugly! Just let dry over night and then bake to make permanent!
