Rock Star Jewelry!

I went to this stupid Indie fashion show (it was actually kind of neat), and saw this guy selling wire jewelry and it was really, ungodly expensive. I thought, "Pssh! I can do that, Sir!" So I did. Not that I don't support independent fashion/accessory designers--some stuff I was really impresed with. But, you know, girl's on a budget!

Here I make a ring and a bracelet with the same type of Spray Latex I used for the The Great Left Over Tile Coaster Project, some sparklies, a thin, easily bendable wire and some other stuff.

Ok, here we have some floral wire (it's for people who do stuff with silk flowers), wire cutters, a candle, and an assortment of pliers.
This is my new soldering iron! Designed for women!!.
I first wrap wire around my finger to measure out how big I should make the ring.
Some stuff
Soldering Iron!
Custom Fit!
I use a tapered candle to wrap the rest of the wire around. It just makes things easier.
This is the shape I want. I used a little extra wire to clamp the bottom.
I soldered the ring so that it stayed in position permanently. It looks messy, but I'm going to paint it anyway. Just make sure it's not pointy!
Faux Finger
A ring is formed.
Solder!
YEAH! I'M SO HAPPY. IT FITS! (I don't know why I look so crazy and why my hand looks so disembodied.
I use some more wire to hold my ring so that I can spray freely. I use a garbage bag to make sure I don't get any get any on the floor (I don't recommend doing this inside. I'm dumb.)
Spray it, let it dry. I used that Krylon H20 Latex stuff again because I don't think it will chip off like Spray paint might.
Test Fitting.
Spray Prep
Black, of course!
I put a little sparkly on my ring. Now that's glamour, baby. I glued it on with epoxy. Some might say that's overkill. No.
I use the Cap of my Spray Latex for the shape of the bracelet.
I clamp it again. I don't know why I'm showing you this.
Sparklies
On to the Bracelet!
Clamped
I soldered the wires together and then I clipped the ends to make it more bangley.
I wrapped the edges because they were a little pointy.
I have small, hairy wrists.
Solder and cut!
Wrap the edges
Test Fitting number 2!
This one, I hanged from the top of that cardboard thing, since standing it upright wasn't really working. I probably should've done this with the ring.
More sparklies to match. duh.
Yay! How Rock Star am I? Like, total Rock Star!
Spray Prep number 2!
A Matching Set!
Yay!
It can't be rockstar without some skulls.
Just for fun!
