Cheap-o Tea light trays!

Soo... I saw someone with a cute little coffee table tray for tea lights or knick knacks or whatever, and thought I could use my left over frames from the table project and convert them into these types of trays. I used left over scrap paper and left over origami paper to put in the frame for a little decor, but pressed flowers or other flat things, would also be good. Or pictures. Whatev.

Um... so we got here some cheap frames from the dollar store and a various assortment of paper. Spray adhesive, scissors, felt stickies, and candles.
I start by taking off the back of the cheap-o frame. You don't really have to, if the felt footies will taller than the stand, but like I said, this is cheapo, so of course it doesn't lay flat.
So I just trace the back onto another piece of cardboard.
Supplies
Remove backing
Make cardboard replacement
Viola! Now it will lay flat and not wobbly or scratchy. Don't worry about those things that hold the cardboard in place, the felt is thicker so the frame will rest on that instead.
Okie, I cut out a plain sheet of cream colored, textured paper (just from a sketch pad I have) for the base and I cut some strips of origami. I don't want it to be too busy. That's just me.
I like the abstract, what can I say? Do you like my zebra print ballet flats?
Flat!
Papers!
Orange dots!
I spray the back of the pieces of decorative paper with an adhesive so it will stick to the big sheet of paper. And then! I can put it in the frame more easily with out things shifting.
Hmm.. it looks a little sparse. But that's ok, I like it simple. Make yours better then! Mine is zenful and inspires peace!
I stick the little felt pads on the bottom.
Spray Adhesive
In the frame!
Felt footies
For this frame, since it's much smaller, I'm just going to cut a pattern from one of my origami sheets and put it on top of some velum paper and plain cardstock.
It's beautiful!
I place my candles on top and light 'em up. Purdy.
Frame, the second.
Simple
Set things on fire
Here's both of them on display. Sorry the picture is so cropped.
So now I've got this left over frame backing... what should I do with it? Any ideas?
All together now.
Hmm...
